Until the advent of single-use centrifugation, there was little choice for the primary clarification step within single-use bioprocesses. With the arrival of the single-use centrifuge, bioprocessing development engineers again have a choice in primary clarification technology.

Single-use equipment has become universally accepted and used for the manufacturing of clinical and licensed drug products. Download this whitepaper and learn more about the benefits of single-use technologies, and the important features to provide fast processing times, low-shear performance and high product recovery in a scalable platform.
In biomanufacturing, clarification is the process of removing cells and cellular debris from the liquid contents of a bioreactor. Centrifugation is a popular choice in the biomanufacturing industry for use in primary clarification. Turbidity sampling is often used in biomanufacturing as a tool to measure the efficiency of a clarification process. Performance of the UFMini single-use centrifuge was evaluated for the clarification of CHO-S cells as measured by supernatant turbidity and cell viability.
